In 2016, Volker Heun, the managing director of Invest in Football published his book “Assetklasse Fußball, Chancen und Risiken für Investoren im Fußball”. The most popular ball sport in the world is supported by big companies, promoters, sponsors and investors. There is a gigantic worldwide football empire, although the biggest deals are done behind the scenes. Football as an asset class can be described by the following buzzwords: TV rights, transfer of players, sponsoring agreement and merchandising.
